  • 18.5–24.9 — Healthy weight
  • 25–29.9 — Overweight
  • 30 and above — Obese

What BMI does and doesn't tell you

BMI is a fast, useful screen — but it's only height and weight. It can't see muscle vs. fat, so very muscular people often read as "overweight" despite being lean. Treat it as one signal, not the whole picture, and pair it with how you feel, move, and perform.
